THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES.

The Government hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source firm fixed price award for the US Coast Guard Base Kodiak for Shemya Island Hut HVAC Repair.

The vendor will be BRICE ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES CORPORATION, 3700 Centerpoint DR STE 800, Anchorage, AK 99503, UEI: QP3RWJE6FJQ6 This action is being awarded on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 12.102, services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source and no other type of services will satisfy agency requirements.

Shemya Island, Alaska, is a remote island located far west in the Aleutian archipelago.

The island does not have a normal civilian population.

Current inhabitants are generally a small rotating presence of U.S.

Government personnel, military support staff, contractors, and maintenance or mission-support personnel associated with Eareckson Air Station and related communications, radar, logistics, and facility operations.

With only military air traffic available at this location, vendors are restricted to those that already have the appropriate clearance to access the military facility.

Subject vendor is the only one with access to the facility, the capability of performing the work, the willingness to accept this requirement, and capable of completing it within the government’s schedule needs.

USCG Base Kodiak, Kodiak, AK, will be the procuring entity for this effort.

Performance will be located at Shemya Island, AK.

The Government intends to acquire commercial items and services using the provisions, clauses, and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12.
